Sony Pictures has officially announced that Mia McKenna-Bruce, Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, and Aimee Lou Wood will join the highly anticipated "The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event", directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes. The project, which will explore the story of The Beatles from four unique perspectives, promises to be one of the most ambitious film events of the decade.

The four acclaimed actresses will portray the iconic women who played pivotal roles in the lives of the legendary band members. McKenna-Bruce will play Maureen (Cox) Starkey, wife of Ringo Starr; Ronan will take on the role of Linda (Eastman) McCartney; Sawai will portray Yoko Ono; and Wood will star as Pattie Boyd.

"Maureen, Linda, Yoko, and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right," said Mendes. "I'm thrilled that we've managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure."

Maureen Cox Starkey, played by BAFTA winner Mia McKenna-Bruce, was one of The Beatles' earliest fans. She met Ringo Starr at Liverpool's Cavern Club in 1962, and their whirlwind romance led to marriage in 1965 and three children together. McKenna-Bruce recently rose to prominence for her powerful lead performance in "How to Have Sex", which premiered at Cannes and won the Un Certain Regard Award.

Linda Eastman McCartney, portrayed by four-time Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan, was a celebrated photographer before meeting Paul McCartney in 1967. Their deep connection-what McCartney once described as "love at first sight"-endured throughout their marriage and creative collaboration. Ronan, known for "Little Women", "Lady Bird", "Atonement", and "Brooklyn", brings an extraordinary depth and emotional nuance to the role.

Yoko Ono, the avant-garde Japanese artist who captivated John Lennon, will be brought to life by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Anna Sawai. Lennon and Ono's partnership began after meeting at an art exhibition and grew into one of music's most discussed and influential creative unions. Sawai's recent work in "Shōgun" has earned her international acclaim and major awards recognition.

Pattie Boyd, a successful model and muse who met George Harrison during the filming of A Hard Day's Night, will be portrayed by BAFTA and Emmy nominee Aimee Lou Wood. Boyd's influence extended beyond her marriage to Harrison, inspiring some of rock's most beloved songs, including "Something" and "Layla." Wood is best known for "Sex Education" and her recent acclaimed turn in "The White Lotus".

The project marks the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles-John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr-have authorized full life story and music rights for a scripted film. Mendes has conceived a groundbreaking approach: four interconnected theatrical features, each told from one band member's perspective, culminating in an intersecting narrative that captures the evolution, artistry, and legacy of the world's greatest band.

The films will star Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan, Paul Mescal, and Joseph Quinn as The Beatles, representing the first cinematic portrayal fully endorsed by the band's estate.

"The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event" is a Neal Street Productions project in association with Apple Corps for Sony Pictures. Mendes produces alongside his Neal Street partners Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor, with Alexandra Derbyshire also producing. Sony Pictures will finance and distribute the films globally, with full theatrical releases set for April 2028.

The announcement also teased that casting news for other key figures-including Cynthia Lennon, Brian Epstein, George Martin, and Ravi Shankar-will be revealed in the coming months.
