Is McDonald's The Grinch Meal the New Adult Happy Meal?

McDonald’s revealed that its new The Grinch Meal hits restaurants on December 2. While many people cannot wait to unwrap this limited-time offering, the concept is more than the “mean one” giving his approval to some pickle-flavored fries. It is a creative way for McDonald’s to introduce a new adult Happy Meal under the guise of a holiday celebration.

The Grinch is a beloved story. Whether it is the classic animated tale, Jim Carrey's interpretation, or the staged Grinchmas at Universal Orlando Resort, people’s hearts grow more than three sizes every time they hear the iconic tale.

While people might be able to recite songs by heart, the reality is that people want tangible connections in the real world. Taking that experience off the screen or stage is vital. McDonald’s The Grinch Meal is more than just a one-time food experience. The special gift inside the box ensures that people frequently think of the Golden Arches. Just like the Happy Meal toy that kids love, this meal gives adults their own special gift to treasure.

The most interesting part of the meal is the pair of spirited socks. Each meal comes with one of the four designs. Each boldly colored food fashion features a favorite character or the McDonald’s logo.

While some people will hope that Max’s design will magically appear in their box, the reality is that one design will become the “coveted” one. It will become the talked-about, shared, and sought-after pair of socks. For some lucky people, they will win the holiday jackpot.

Additionally, these socks ensure that people talk about and share their McDonald’s experience long after the food is gone. The socks become a conversation starter, a connector, or even a holiday tradition. Just like enjoying a Happy Meal after winning that weekly soccer game, wearing these socks brings back all the memories and spreads some special holiday cheer.
