Shia LaBeouf has signed on to star in the upcoming Universal Pictures film, "Dark Fields". The story, based on Alan Glynn's 2002 novel, focuses on a young man who tries to obtain a top-secret pharmaceutical drug that makes you smarter.
After trying the drug, the man experiences sudden financial and social success but also finds out that there are some lethal and long lasting side effects. One such effect is called "trip-switching", which is when time moves with stop motion quality.
The film will be produced by Leslie Dixon, who also adapted the screenplay, and Neil Burger will be directing.
