Just as we have un-strapped ourselves from one heck of a wild ride after watching the Avengers movie, fans will be thrilled to hear that our super-human heroes will be returning to the big screen as Disney's CEO Bob Iger just announced that the company is developing a sequel. According to Iger, the film's success "is a great illustration of why we like Marvel so much." Iger also stated that the merchandise sales for the Avengers have been strong. The Avengers movie has set a new record for opening weekend box office sales, destroying the old record held by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows II, and thus it should come as no surprise that Disney has decided to make the sequel. Fans can hopefully look forward to having director Joss Whedon return, as well as our heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow.
