Disney has already confirmed that an Avengers 2 is on the cards, but it seems the Director of the Box Office sensation, Joss Whedon, is not so sure.
Speaking to The Los Angeles Times, Whedon said, "You know, I'm very torn. It's an enormous amount of work telling what is ultimately somebody else's story, even though I feel like I did get to put myself into it. But at the same time, I had a bunch of ideas, and they all seemed really cool."
With the current movie breaking Box Office records the world over, you would expect that Disney would want to keep the continuity; and if they do, then there may be a chance that there would be more female characters involved. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly with Scarlett Johansson, Whedon stated, "Studios will tell you: 'A woman cannot headline an action movie.' After The Hunger Games, they might stop telling you that a little bit. Whatever you think of the movie, it has done a great service...and after The Avengers, I think it is changing."
With a second Avengers movie not expected until 2014, one thing Joss Whedon has is a little bit of time to make his mind up.
