Word is that Lionsgate, through its subsidiary, Summit, are doing more than talking about a possible reboot of the 1980 movie "Highlander".
Until now, all we have really known is that "28 Weeks Later" director Juan Carlos Fresnadillio has been hired to direct the movie and very little else.
Though now, Variety is reporting that the role of Connor MacLeod/Russell Edwin Nash, made famous by Christopher Lambert in 1986 may well be heading the way of Ryan Reynolds (Safe House, Green Lantern).
Variety is also reporting that Reynolds is not only the frontrunner for the role but that "both sides are in talks and are very interested in working together".
"Highlander" went on to spawn sequels as well as a TV and animated series but none managed to hit the heights of the original movie that also starred Sean Connery alongside Lambert.
