Linda Woolverton will be returning to pen a sequel to 2010's Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland", which starred Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska. The film was a success, earning more than $1 billion worldwide as well as Oscars for art direction and costume design.
Besides "Alice", Woolverton has worked on other Disney films such as "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King," "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey," "Maleficent," "Mulan" and "Aladdin."
Also returning to the project will be producers Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd.
No word yet on what the plot will be for the sequel, but the original followed the Lewis Carroll book "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". There is a strong possibility that the sequel will follow the same storyline as the book's sequel, "Through the Looking-Glass," with Alice returning to Wonderland.
