Robin Williams Passes Away at Age 63
As everyone knows by now, Robin Williams, the Oscar-winning comedian and actor, has died. He was found in his home in Tiburon, California, dead from an apparent suicide.  He was 63.

His films are too numerous to list in full, but he won an Oscar for Good Will Hunting. His rise to fame began with "Mork and Mindy" and sky-rocketed from there. He was well known for his impersonations, as well as for being a versatile actor. He was accomplished in the comedy genre, as well as thriller and drama films.

Williams struggled for years with addiction to cocaine and alcohol, but had been sober for 20 years.  He did have a brief stay at rehab in 2006, and then again recently, for alcohol issues. He was also battling severe depression, according to his publicist.

Williams leaves behind his wife, Susan Schneider; children Zachary, Zelda and Cody; stepsons Casey and Peter Armusewicz; and half brother McLaurin Smith-Williams.

Schneider released the following statement:

"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin's family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."
