The xXx franchise begin in 2002 with the original xXx, followed by 2005's xXx: State Of The Union. The films follow an extreme-sports athlete turned government operative named Xander Cage. Rob Cohen directed the original film, and Lee Tamahori directed the sequel, but there is no word on who will be directing this installment.
Filming is set to begin at the end of this year.
