The Crown's Claire Foy Top Choice for The Girl in the Spider’s Web
It has been reported that "The Crown" star, Liz Foy, is Sony's top choice be cast as the next Lisbeth Salander for the upcoming film "The Girl in the Spider's Web". The film is the nest installment of the "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" franchise.

Foy is also said to be in talks with Damien Chazelle to play the female lead in his next film "First Man", which stars Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong. Depending on how those talks go, Sony may not be able to snag the Foy for their film. However, there is no confirmation of these talks.

"The Girl in the Spider's Web" will be directed by Fede Alvarez ("Don't Breathe") and was written by Alvarez, Steven Knight and Jay Basu. Scott Rudin, Søren Stærmose, Ole Søndberg, Amy Pascal, Elizabeth Cantillon, Eli Bush, and Berna Levin will produce with Anni Faurbye Fernandez, Line Winther Skyum Funch, Johannes Jensen, and David Fincher executive producing.

The film is slated for an Oct. 19, 2018 release.
