Showtime's hit drama Homeland will be entering its seventh season and now they have a new location that they will be filming in - Central Virgina. The show has been all over the place to film, with its first three seasons in North Carolina, followed by South Africa, Pakistan, Berlin and New York.
Homeland executive producer/showrunner Alex Gansa said, "We're thrilled to bring the production of Homeland to the great state of Virginia. Its cities and neighborhoods and people will surely provide a rich backdrop for our story, and we, in turn, aim to provide a small but hopefully significant boost to the local economy."
The feeling was mutual for Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. "We are delighted to welcome this outstanding drama to the Commonwealth. Having hosted shows like Turn: Washington's Spies, Mercy Street, and now Homeland, it is clear that Virginia is a premier television production location, and I look forward to the success of this series here in Virginia", said McAuliffe.
Homeland stars, among others, Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin.
Season seven is set to begin filming this fall.
