A signed Sugar Rush steering wheel from Ralph Breaks the Internet goes to auction
Disney fans of Ralph Breaks the Internet had a unique opportunity to own a piece of the animated film's history when a limited-edition replica of the iconic "Sugar Rush" steering wheel went up for auction.
The steering wheel plays a key role in Walt Disney Animation Studios' Ralph Breaks the Internet. In the film, Ralph and his best friend Vanellope von Schweetz set out on a mission to save her beloved arcade game, Sugar Rush, after its steering wheel breaks. Their journey leads them beyond Litwak's Arcade and into the enormous world of the internet, where they search for a replacement part on eBay.
The real-life replica steering wheel was donated by Walt Disney Animation Studios to coincide with the film's in-home release. Even more importantly, the auction supported a meaningful cause. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the item were donated to Make-A-Wish® to help grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.
Disney and Make-A-Wish® have shared a long-standing partnership that stretches back more than four decades. Since 1980, Disney has helped grant more than 130,000 wishes, creating experiences that bring hope and joy to children and their families. Today, Disney continues that legacy by helping grant more than 10,000 wishes each year.
The collectible steering wheel was signed by cast members Sarah Silverman, Gal Gadot, and Jane Lynch. The winning bidder also received a limited-edition autographed poster signed by cast and filmmakers including John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Taraji P. Henson, Jack McBrayer, Phil Johnston, Rich Moore, and producer Clark Spencer, along with a Blu-ray copy of the film.
The auction ran from February 26 at 6:00 a.m. PST through March 5 at 6:00 a.m. PST. Fans interested in bidding or learning more could visit eBay.com/ralphbreakstheinternet.
