Fletcher directed "Rocketman", as well as taking the helm for "Bohemian Rhapsody" after Bryan Singer was fired. Guy Ritchie directed the first two "Sherlock Holmes" films, which grossed over $1 billion combined worldwide.
The film will be written by Narcos co-creator Chris Brancato, with Joel Silver, Susan Downey, Dan Lin, and Lionel Wigram as producers.
"Sherlock Holmes 3" is slated for a December 21, 2021 release.
