Netflix has given the green light for a third and final season for "Dead To Me". The renewal was part of an overall deal made with series creator Liz Feldman.
"From start to finish, Dead To Me is exactly the show I wanted to make. And it's been an incredible gift. Telling a story sprung from grief and loss has stretched me as an artist and healed me as a human. I'll be forever indebted to my partners in crime, my friends for life, Christina and Linda, and our brilliantly talented writers, cast and crew. I am beyond grateful to Netflix for supporting Dead To Me from day one, and I'm thrilled to continue our collaboration," Feldman said.
The series stars Christin Applegate, Lisa Cardellini, and James Marsden. It follows the story of an unlikely friendship after some pretty tragic circumstances.
Under the deal that Feldman signed, she will be developing new original series and projects for the streamer. Netflix's VP, Comedy Series Jane Wiseman, commented about the announcement saying, "Liz Feldman is a comedic force who brings her fresh and distinct point of view to every element of the creative process from inception through writing and producing. We could not be more excited to expand our relationship with Liz and continue to work with her on Dead to Me and future series to come."
Both Feldman and Applegate took to social media to comment about the ending of the show.
"I will miss these ladies. But we felt this was the best way to tie up the story of these women. Thank you to all the fans. We will be getting back to work when it is safe to do so. Much love," said Applegate.
Feldman said, "Thrilled to keep working with @1capplegate & @lindacardellini and our amazing writers, cast & crew for one more season! @deadtome has been and continues to be the most creatively & personally fulfilling experience of my life. Profoundly grateful for all of it."
