Midnight Run's Charles Grodin Dies at 86

Charles Grodin, star of "Midnight Run", "The Heartbreak Kid", and "Heaven Can Wait", has died. He was 86.

It's being reported that his son had said he died of bone cancer today in his Connecticut home. 

Grodin's breakout role was 1972's "The Heartbreak Kid", which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. In 1978, he starred alongside Warren Beatty in a more comedic role in "Heaven Can Wait". In 1988, he starred in "Midnight Run", arguably his most popular film, alongside Robert DeNiro. He starred in many other popular films, as well, such as "Sunburn", "Real Life", "It's My Turn", "Seems Like Old Times", "The Incredible Shrinking Woman", "The Lonely Guy", "All of Me", "The Woman in Red", "Movers and Shakers" (which he also wrote), "The Last Resort", "The Couch Trip", and others.

Grodin also wrote and starred in many plays, as well as hosting his own talk show. 

He is survived by his wife, author Elissa Durwood Grodin, son Nicholas, daughter-in-law Aubrey and granddaughter Geneva, and daughter Marion.
