Due to the ongoing writer's strike, Marvel's film "Thunderbolts" has paused production. Set to begin production next month in Atlanta, the film will proceed after the strike is resolved. The strike, initiated by the Writers Guild of America on May 2, is centered around demands for improved streaming residuals and minimum staffing regulations for TV productions, among other requests.
"Thunderbolts" is an eagerly anticipated addition to Marvel's Phase Five Films, bringing together characters from "Ant-Man and the Wasp," "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," "Black Widow," and the "Captain America" film "New World Order." The star-studded cast includes Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, all reprising their Marvel roles. Joining the veteran cast are newcomers Ayo Edebiri and Steven Yeun.
Under the direction of Jake Schreier and with a script by Lee Sung Jin based on a first draft by Eric Pearson, "Thunderbolts" promises to be an exciting addition to the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe once production resumes following the resolution of the writer's strike.
