
March 2, 2025, will mark six decades since Rodgers & Hammerstein's melodies first brought the theatrical hills to life in the beloved cinematic masterpiece, "The Sound of Music". This milestone year, audiences of all generations will be treated to a visually stunning and acoustically refined experience as the classic film is released in a meticulously restored 4K resolution, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Walt Disney Film Restoration team.
Over a nine-month period, the restoration team conducted digital scans of the preserved film footage, undertaking extensive cleaning to remove dirt, warping, and other imperfections.
