Neon's Chief Distribution Officer, Elissa Federoff, highlighted the company's impressive achievements over its eight-year existence, including five consecutive Palme d’Or Awards at the Cannes Film Festival and two Best Picture Oscars.
Attendees were treated to trailers for the emotional drama The Life of Chuck and the intense thriller Together, starring real-life couple Dave Franco and Allison Brie.
Following Neon's presentation, the “State of the Industry” session featured speeches from Cinema United’s Chairman Bob Bagby, MPA CEO Charles Rivkin, and Cinema United President and CEO Michael O’Leary. Additionally, Sean Gamble, President and CEO of Cinemark, received the Marquee Award.
Lionsgate's presentation commenced with the highly anticipated Ballerina. Director Len Wiseman and star Ana de Armas discussed her rigorous training regimen for the action sequences and the challenges of shooting in Prague's cold weather. An extended action scene showcased the film's alignment with the John Wick franchise.
Director Francis Lawrence, along with actors David Johnson and Mark Hamill, introduced The Long Walk. Hamill remarked, “If you can’t be the hero, there’s nothing better than being the villain.”
Lionsgate also announced the development of John Wick 5, the musical comedy Power Ballad starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas, and Now You See Me, Now You Don’t, which combines original cast members like Morgan Freeman with new talent such as Ariana Greenblatt.
The presentation concluded with a sneak peek of Hurry Up Tomorrow, featuring Jenna Ortega and Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd). Following the trailer, The Weeknd performed two songs live, introduced by Ortega.
In the late afternoon, Warner Bros. Pictures showcased a sizzle reel of upcoming films. Newly appointed President of Global Theatrical Distribution, Jeff Goldstein, introduced executives Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca. They briefly mentioned projects like The Minecraft Movie and Sinners before delving into One Battle After Another, with appearances by Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jessie Buckley discussed The Bride, a film written and directed by Gyllenhaal. Other highlights included announcements for Final Destination: Bloodlines, Weapons, The Conjuring: Last Rites, and Mortal Kombat II. Attendees viewed a particularly gory scene from Final Destination: Bloodlines.
Director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer presented F1, starring Brad Pitt, and screened the first 10 minutes of the film.
Warner Bros. Animation introduced upcoming projects like The Cat in the Hat, with Bill Hader voicing the titular character. The most anticipated segment featured the summer release of Superman. James Gunn, Peter Safran, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, and David Corenswet discussed the film, sharing insights into the challenges and pressures of portraying such iconic roles. The session concluded with an exclusive clip from the movie, which was a highlight for many attendees.
