Lucasfilm is bringing the galaxy far, far away back to the big screen! Tickets are officially on sale for the highly anticipated return of "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith", which will be re-released in theaters on April 25 in celebration of the film's 20th anniversary. This limited-time engagement will run for one week only in select U.S. theaters and international territories, offering fans both longtime and new the chance to experience the thrilling saga on the big screen once again.
In honor of this milestone, "Revenge of the Sith" will be presented in various viewing formats-including, for the first time ever, 4DX. This immersive cinematic experience features high-tech motion seats synchronized with more than 21 different environmental effects, such as wind, rain, fog, lightning, and scents, all crafted to enhance the emotional and visual impact of the film and put audiences right in the heart of the action.
To mark the beginning of ticket sales and celebrate two decades of one of the franchise's most beloved entries, Fandango unveiled an exclusive 20th Anniversary poster. This new design features a dynamic color variation of the official re-release artwork and captures the epic intensity of the film's themes-loyalty, betrayal, destiny, and the fall of a hero.
Originally released in 2005, "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith" is the final installment in George Lucas's prequel trilogy. The film is set during the final days of the Clone Wars, as Jedi Knights lead the Republic's clone army against the Separatist forces. Meanwhile, darkness rises from within, as the Sith execute a centuries-old plan to dismantle the Republic and rise to power. As Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker is pulled toward the dark side of the Force, he ultimately becomes the fearsome Darth Vader, sealing the fate of the Jedi Order and paving the way for the rise of the Galactic Empire.
Directed and written by George Lucas, the film features a powerhouse cast including Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Natalie Portman as Padmé Amidala, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ian McDiarmid as Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious, and Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu. The ensemble also includes Frank Oz (voice of Yoda), Jimmy Smits, Peter Mayhew, Ahmed Best, Anthony Daniels, Temuera Morrison, Silas Carson, Kenny Baker, Oliver Ford Davies, and Christopher Lee as Count Dooku.
Whether you're reliving the cinematic event that defined a generation or discovering it for the first time on the big screen, this special re-release of "Revenge of the Sith" is not to be missed.
Tickets are available now wherever movie tickets are sold.
