Celebrity-Fueled Food Ads Stole the Spotlight During Super Bowl LX

Super Bowl LX featured the Seattle Seahawks versus the New England Patriots. While some people watched every play and others focused on Bad Bunny in the halftime show, many watchers focused on the commercials. From favorite snacks to refreshing beverages, the best food Super Bowl LX commercials featured a slew of celebrities. Pop culture and food always score a win.

Although this year’s commercials may not find their way to the hall of fame, celebrity influence made the food-centric moments more watchable. Laughs, fun quips, and a few pop culture moments have people remembering those moments more than who won the coin toss.

Ritz

Although it was not a scene from Love Island or Jurassic Park, this playful island escape had a good amount of humor. With John Hamm, Scarlett Johansson, and Bowen Yang leading the way, this beach party inspires everyone to have some Ritz Crackers on hand. The buttery crackers are always the center of attention.

Michelob Ultra

Since the Olympics are happening at the same time as Super Bowl LX, Michelob Ultra’s commercial offered a wonderful crossover. Borrowing from Rocky, Eddie the Eagle, and other classic tropes, this ski-inspired beer commercial is a feel-good moment. Just like the low-carb, lower-calorie beer fits into lifestyle choices, it is a good choice all around.

Nerds

Although not as musical as last year’s Shaboozey commercial, Nerds gave Andy Cohen a new “taste bud.” Anderson Cooper might be jealous that he has a replacement. If only the Nerds Gummy Cluster could become as iconic as Left Shark.

Instacart

While some people hit purchase on Instacart to get extra chips, the brand’s commercial appealed to the silly factor. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Spike Jonze, it featured Ben Stiller and Benson Boone. They sang about bananas, but the flipping bit was lost on people who are unfamiliar with Benson Boone.

Dunkin

Always a winning Super Bowl commercial, Dunkin' brought back its biggest fan, Ben Affleck. Alongside famous friends, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Jason Alexander, Ted Danson, and a ton of sitcom favorites, this flashback to Dunkin takes on Good Will Hunting is a perfect serving of newstalgia. Unfortunately, only a lucky few have access to that MIT experience.

Grubhub

For anyone who ordered that last-minute pizza delivery, they appreciated that Grubhub is eating the fees. In the commercial directed by Oscar-nominated Yorgos Lanthimos, George Clooney seems a little out of sorts. But the cinematic feel makes the ad feel more than just another savings deal.

Hellmann’s

Even though stadiums may not sing the classic Neil Diamond song until the third quarter, Hellmann’s invited everyone to enjoy some “Sweet Sandwich Time” earlier in the game. Andy Samberg played “Meal Diamond” and sang a memorable ode to mayonnaise on sandwiches. While meow cat and “I’ll have what she’s having” drew more attention, this moment satisfied.

Uber Eats

Movie fans will appreciate the subtle reference in this commercial. Parker Posey and Matthew McConaughey starred in Dazed and Confused. With Bradley Cooper joining the football conspiracy conversation, this ad was more than just alright.

Pringles

Always a Super Bowl favorite, Pringles steps away from flavor stacking for a short and sweet option. Featuring Sabrina Carpenter, this salty snack man can be a tasty alternative to swiping right.

These Super Bowl LX commercials are just a sampling of the special options. Hopefully, everyone’s food spread earned a win.
