The new Pixar adventure combines wildlife, technology, and family-friendly comedy when it arrives on Disney+ this June.
Disney and Pixar are bringing another original animated adventure to streaming this summer with the arrival of Hoppers on Disney+ beginning June 3.
Mabel’s unusual journey begins when she discovers a way to experience the world through the eyes of a beaver.
The family comedy follows Mabel, an animal lover who uses new technology to “hop” her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver, allowing her to communicate directly with animals and experience the natural world from an entirely different perspective.
What begins as a scientific breakthrough quickly turns into a larger adventure as Mabel discovers a hidden community of wildlife living according to its own rules and traditions.
Set within the wilderness of an ordinary backyard ecosystem, the film introduces audiences to beaver King George and a collection of animal characters who must work together when a growing human threat places their home in danger.
The story combines comedy, adventure, and environmental themes while exploring the relationship between people and the natural world through a distinctly Pixar lens.
Early reactions have been positive, with the film earning both Certified Fresh and Verified Hot designations on Rotten Tomatoes.
Hoppers is directed by Daniel Chong and produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle. The screenplay was written by Jesse Andrews, while longtime composer Mark Mothersbaugh provides the film’s score.
According to the official synopsis, Mabel befriends a charismatic beaver and eventually rallies the animal kingdom to confront an imminent threat. Along the way, she gains a new understanding of the creatures living just beyond the human world.
