ICEE, Dippin’ Dots, and KLIMON Sweeten the Moviegoing Experience with Minions-Inspired Treats
As anticipation builds for Minions & Monsters, food brands add to the hype with specialty themed offerings. Since the beloved mischievous characters love their bananas, that fruit flavors many of the offerings. ICEE, Dippin’ Dots, and KLIMON added limited-time items to various theaters’ menus.
ICEE has leveraged themed beverages for major movie releases. For the upcoming Minions movie, the brand added Banana Blast ICEE flavor. While the connection to the franchise is clear, the sweet, frozen drink appeals to both kids and adults. Plus, the vibrant yellow color adds to the whimsy that people expect from these characters.

Anyone thirsty for the limited-edition Banana Blast ICEE can order one at Regal Cinemas, Cinemark, Marcus Theatres, and other select entertainment destinations nationwide. It is available now.
In addition to the Banana Blast ICEE, Dippin’ Dots offers the Banana Split flavor. The favorite frozen dessert has just the right amount of chocolate to highlight the banana. Plus, no one will worry about that fruit sliding out of the bowl.
Adding to the frozen dessert options, KLIMON added six dairy-free Minion-themed frozen desserts. These items are available at Coming Attractions Theatres, Starlight Cinemas, Regency Theatres, Metropolitan Theatres, and select participating theaters across the U.S. There are four pint options - Banana Ooh Na-Na, Bello Politan, Ooey Gooey!, Maple Mayhem, and two sandwich treats - Banana! Scream Pie and Banana! Scream Pie Minis.
The highlight of these six offerings is the Ooey Gooey! The frozen dessert starts with salted chocolate, then folds in walnuts, marshmallows, and caramel swirls. The contrast of textures and tempered sweetness makes for a sublime bite. People will want to buy an extra pint on the way out to enjoy at home.
A close second choice is the Maple Mayhem. Another sweet and salty combination, the hickory-smoked sea salt elevates every spoonful. Adding a smoky element to frozen dessert should be a new food trend.
