The latest announcement adds 25 premieres, anniversary screenings, special guests, and an overnight movie marathon to the South Florida horror festival.
Popcorn Frights has announced the second wave of its 2026 lineup, adding 25 film premieres, anniversary screenings, guest appearances, and special events.
The announcement follows the festival's first wave of programming, which included appearances by Stephen Lang and Michael Ironside, the Florida premiere of Colony, and anniversary screenings of Train to Busan, Scanners, and Total Recall.
David Robert Mitchell's The End of Oak Street is among the new additions. The Warner Bros. Pictures film stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor and follows the Platt family after a mysterious cosmic event transports their suburban neighborhood to an unknown location.
The screening will include themed games, photo opportunities, and an invitation for attendees to wear 1980s attire.
William Sadler will attend the festival for the 35th anniversary of Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. He will also take part in an extended discussion following a 4K screening of The Shawshank Redemption.
Robert Kurtzman will celebrate the 30th anniversary of From Dusk Till Dawn by presenting a newly restored version of the original short film that inspired the feature. He will also join Andrew Divoff for a screening of Wishmaster.
The Wishmaster screening will be followed by the Wish-A-Thon, an overnight marathon featuring a secret lineup of films connected by wishes gone wrong. Ticket proceeds from the event will benefit Make-A-Wish.
Felissa Rose will host a live commentary screening of Sleepaway Camp and the premiere of The Barn Part III. A pop-up video market featuring VHS tapes, DVDs, collectibles, and other merchandise will also be part of the event.
The festival will close with Drag, starring Lizzy Caplan and John Stamos. The horror-thriller follows two burglars whose planned home robbery begins to fall apart after one of them suffers a back injury.
The in-theater lineup also includes the Florida premieres of The Barn Part III, Breeder, and Never After Dark, the North American premiere of Hen, and the U.S. premiere of Unholy Night.
The virtual lineup adds 12 films, including the world premieres of Hollow Girls and Savage Prey. Other selections include Big City Pizza, Break a Leg, Cat Cam, The Daughters of the Domino, Demonetize, The Fright Stuff, Lenore, Life at Sandy's, Narcisa's Will, and The Vanishing Tour.
The festival now includes 33 feature premieres and 11 retro titles from more than 10 countries. Festival organizers said a third wave of films and special events will be announced before opening night.
The 12th annual Popcorn Frights Film Festival runs from Aug. 6 through Aug. 16 at Savor Cinema and the Classic Gateway Theater in Fort Lauderdale. Virtual screenings will be available nationwide.
Individual tickets, in-theater all-access badges, and virtual passes are available through the official Popcorn Frights website.
