Magnolia Pictures, in conjunction with FlickDirect, is giving readers the opportunity to attend a free advance screening of I WANT YOUR SEX, the latest feature from acclaimed New Queer Cinema filmmaker Gregg Araki. The advance screening takes place on Tuesday, July 28, at AMC Sunset Place in South Miami, giving audiences the chance to experience one of this summer's most talked-about independent releases before its theatrical debut.
Written and directed by Araki, whose previous films include Mysterious Skin, The Doom Generation, and White Bird in a Blizzard, I WANT YOUR SEX blends psychological drama, dark comedy, erotic thriller, and mystery into a bold examination of desire, ambition, and power. The filmmaker's distinctive visual style and willingness to challenge audiences have made him one of independent cinema's most influential voices, and his latest film continues that tradition.
The film stars Olivia Wilde as internationally renowned artist Erika Tracy, whose provocative work and unconventional lifestyle draw the attention of Elliot, played by Cooper Hoffman. After Elliot lands what seems like the opportunity of a lifetime working for Erika, their professional relationship gradually evolves into something far more complicated. As boundaries begin to disappear, Elliot finds himself questioning his own desires while navigating increasingly dangerous emotional and psychological territory.
The supporting cast includes Charli XCX and Chase Sui Wonders, helping round out a story that mixes romance, satire, suspense, and murder into an unpredictable experience that has already generated significant conversation ahead of its theatrical release.
