The Pitch Perfect and The Hunting Wives star joins the expanding cast of Lionsgate's psychological thriller sequel.
Brittany Snow is joining the growing cast of The Housemaid's Secret, Lionsgate's sequel to the global box-office hit The Housemaid.
Snow will star opposite Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst, Paul Anthony Kelly, and returning cast member Michele Morrone. She will portray Marybeth, a new character whose role has not yet been revealed.
The story follows the return of Millie, who accepts a housekeeping position for a mysterious woman she is forbidden from seeing. As strange events unfold inside the secluded home, Millie discovers the horrifying truth behind a locked door, one that threatens to expose secrets even darker than those she has worked so hard to leave behind.
Paul Feig returns to direct the sequel after The Housemaid earned more than $400 million worldwide. He also produces alongside Laura Fischer through Pretty Dangerous Pictures and Hidden Pictures' Todd Lieberman. Sweeney returns as a producer through her Honey Trap banner.
The films are based on Freida McFadden's bestselling psychological thriller series. Lionsgate secured the rights to McFadden's trilogy and an additional short story before the books became New York Times bestsellers. With production expected to begin later this year, the studio is already looking toward adapting additional stories from McFadden's expanding universe.
Rebecca Sonnenshine, who adapted the original novel for the screen, returns to write the sequel. Carly Elter also returns as executive producer after overseeing the first film for Hidden Pictures, while Alex Young serves as executive producer and Honey Trap's Kaylee McGregor will co-produce.
Michele Morrone is set to reprise his role as Enzo from the original film.
Snow currently stars in Netflix's hit drama The Hunting Wives, which has already been renewed for a second season. Audiences also know her from John Tucker Must Die, Hairspray, the Pitch Perfect trilogy, and Ti West's acclaimed horror film X.
The Housemaid's Secret opens exclusively in theaters on December 17, 2027.
