An outrageous and unapologetic comedy that delivers big laughs while skewering modern culture

Ted Season 2 continues the outrageous and irreverent antics of John Bennett and his foul-mouthed teddy bear, delivering another round of boundary-pushing comedy.

We all had a favorite childhood toy growing up. For some, it was a doll or a model airplane or any number of objects that meant fun, safety, and lasting memories. For John Bennett (Max Burkholder; Parenthood), that beloved item was a teddy bear named Ted (Seth MacFarlane; Family Guy). However, one wish turned Ted from an inanimate object to a living, breathing, foul-minded creature.

While audiences first met Ted and John in the 2012 live-action feature film of the same name and its 2015 sequel, fans are now able to watch what happened to the duo before the timeline set in the movies. In the television show, which streams on Peacock, Ted and John are in high school and are dealing with all the trials and tribulations that come during that tumultuous time in a young man's/ bear's life. Season 1 premiered in January of 2024, and the 8 episodes of season 2 came out earlier this year on March 5, 2026.

Season 2 begins with our protagonists beginning their senior year in high school and ends four months after graduation, where John and subsequently Ted still live at home, sitting around all day doing nothing but watching television and smoking pot. What happens between these two events is days filled with antics, blunders of epic proportions, and finding ways of getting out of trouble in ways only Ted and John could. Of course, these events all dissolve into moments of hilarity unless you are keen on being politically correct or sensitive to others' feelings.

The cast of Ted SEASON 2 is excellent. Burkholder does a terrific job of playing a teenage boy, even though he is rounding the corner to 30. MacFarlane is a master of voices and has been portraying Ted since that first movie, so he has the bear's vocal tone down pat. Joining them for round two are Scott Grimes (Robin Hood) as John's racist father, Matty, Alanna Ubach (Waiting) as John's Susie homemaker mom, Susan, and Giorgia Whigham (The Punisher) as John's cousin who lives with the Bennett family while she attends college. The ensemble is great together, and they feed off each other, making the bits even funnier.

Honestly, though, this show wouldn't be half as good without Ubach. She recites lines in such an innocent manner and is so naïve that the character doesn't understand that what is coming out of her mouth half the time is so off-kilter. The best two episodes of the season revolve around Susan - Dungeons and Dealers, and Susan is the New Black. Comedy Gold for 30 minutes straight!!

If you're looking for some behind-the-scenes extras, you can find a making of the Dungeons and Dealers episode on Peacock's YouTube channel.

Speaking of..., the production values this season seem to step it up a notch from Season One, with the previously mentioned episodes as examples. The costumes, sets and makeup on the D&D episode and the prison set from Susan is the New Black are highlights. However, there are other examples, such as the basement of the school in the first episode of the season, Talk Dirty to Me.

If you are the sensitive type, Ted is not for you, as they manage to make fun of and insult everyone equally across the board. From African Americans, the LGBTQ community, and every ethnicity under the sun to abortion and censorship, no topic is off the table. The writing is brilliant as it makes us laugh while pointing out the hypocrisy of our Country and culture.

Sadly, according to the rumor mill, there will not be a season 3 since production costs are too high. Luckily, we still have Seasons One and Two available on Peacock to enjoy. So sit back, grab a beer (or a p*#$y) and get ready to laugh.
