hi i'm allison with FlickDirect and i am here with jamie foxx and dave franco to talk about day shift hello gentlemen yes so here's the elevator pitch a vampire movie it's a comedy and you're working during the day what on earth makes you want to do this movie i'll tell you uh jj perry uh director who before we get to the vampires the stunts that he's done and amazing and john wick in fast and furious then it's like who's your wish list i said i gotta have dave franco oh i don't do the movie i've been watching dave franco just rise for a long time and then here comes snoop incredible here comes megan good incredible carla so now we have a great cast and the story is simple the story is about this guy trying to provide for his daughter so he can keep his daughter so it's blue collar but what's his job now it becomes magical now he's fighting in this incredible world where we all love vampires and there's a union and he gets money for fangs how like how strict is that like yo you got the fangs on you oh yeah so it touches every sensibility and then once we started cooking uh it was something special yeah what about you was it just hey i want to work with jamie foxx or that was a big part of it yeah absolutely i mean uh jamie i've been a huge fan for such a long time and he just he's the best he's the most selfless actor i've ever worked with he is so giving he wants everyone around him to be great and that's not always the case you know and it's just like he just he encourages you to just try anything bring out yourself into these roles and you know all of our scenes together so much of that is just us playing around and just kind of finding things on the day and um you know i give our director jj a lot of credit for just being a little hands off with some of that comedy stuff and letting us letting us run but obviously he was there to kind of rain us in when we went too far as well yeah let's talk about jj again amazing stunts i have to say monday night i saw a bullet train oh okay and and i in my review i wrote stunts are so good it'll make john wick jealous and now i'm saying i should have saved it for this movie because the stunts were amazing come on now amazing talk about them talk about working with jj jj that's amazing and the thing they were practical there was no smokes and mirrors no cgi yeah for almost all of it and his team was amazing he can't speak enough about his team that that will jump through rings of fire for him and so when he choreographed these stunts like that that very opening scene that everybody's calling me about because it's in the trailer when that old lady gets put when they shoot when granny flies through the bathroom and here's the back of that thing you know people like what's going on and then she could fight you've just never seen that so so so when i've seen this screened in front of people that are along for the ride they're screaming and going crazy it was nuts there's there's uh there's moments that might not seem like crazy stunts but like there are so many times when you know jamie's shooting a vampire and it's these stunts where these guys are attached to these ropes and they'll jump and someone off screen is yanking as hard as they can and they're snapping back that's not easy and those guys are doing that over and over and over again it's crazy so for the sequel you're going to be the nerd this time right i'm going to be what you're going to be nerd oh yeah i think i was a nerd in it this time no way no way gentlemen thank you so much what a fun movie thank you for your time today
