Doomsday, Daisy Ridley Action Flick, and Boy Band Surprise

Hey everybody and welcome back to this week's episode of Flick News. Izola here with FlickDirect and if you are new, this is where I kind of give you a brief wrap up of what's been given to us in the movie news or entertainment news for the prior week. So I have a few things that I need to share with you, so grab your popcorn, sit back, relax, and let's get this started.

So I thought I'd start off with something a little fun. I mean, not that we don't have a lot of fun and interesting things that come out through the week, but this one was extremely exciting for me personally, and I'm sure a lot of you will share the same sentiment. But earlier we heard that Chris Evans was going to be returning to the MCU and spoilers, if you didn't know and you want to pass and not want to know, fast forward a few seconds.

All right, now that they're gone. He's coming to prison. Pretty much be playing Nomad. If you don't know who that is, go look it up, but it's kind of another version of Captain America after he's kind of left the shield. Now, we all knew that there was going to be more casting news coming down the pipeline, but we finally got something and I'm super excited about this.

It turns out that Hayley Atwell will be reprising her role as Peggy. I'm sure as many of you know, I'm a huge fan of Peggy Carter and I loved the show Agent Carter. And I really wish that there was more for her character. And now we are getting it. So this means as well with Chris Evans, we will also have Anthony Mackie. And there was a hint from Benedict Cumberbatch that he would be reprising his role as Dr.

Strange as well. That was at, I think, a Tokyo convention. But again, some of these more speculation. Look, he's coming back. There's no doubt about it. Now, last time we saw Peggy was when she was part of the Illuminati in the Multiverse of Madness, where she had actually gotten injected with the serum and donned her beautiful Union Jack outfit, which I absolutely loved.

And we need more of that. You know, so fingers crossed something will come down the pipeline with that. But at least we're getting her in this fifth, what, the fifth Avengers movie-ish movie? Yeah, five, right? I can't keep counting anymore. But. But we're getting, we're getting Peggy back. The last time we actually saw our Peggy was in Endgame, where she had her happily ever after with Steve.

Not quite sure where their relationship will be in this particular Doomsday version or update, whatever we want to call that. But I mean, we don't really want all the spoils now, do we? Kind of want something to be, you know, excited for with the movie. Aside from. All the other cameos that will be made during it. I do have to say that the Avengers Doomsday movie is really shaping up to be something really big.

Hopefully they're not really doing what James Gunn is doing to the DC Universe and just trying to throw everybody in there as he's doing for Superman. But the good thing is, is that we already know these characters. So yes, some are a little different, but we still know who they are at their core. So it's not like we're getting. These brand new introductions for the most part.

Now, we still have a long ways away until Doomsday appears in the theaters, which is May 1st, 2026. So I'm sure we're going to have a lot to discuss when they start throwing out trailers and photos and you know how they like to do on Instagram and all the other socials. So definitely tune in, check back with us and any information I get on this movie with any other people.

If you have any updates, I will definitely keep you guys posted. Next, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy are teaming up once again. But before you get too excited, please listen. It's not another Deadpool Wolverine type of movie. I think that's definitely far into the future before we start looking at that again, which, you know, I think we're OK for now.

I can still watch that movie a lot. Before I'm sick of it. So they have more than enough time to get us another one. Should they decide to actually get back together? I mean, but who wouldn't want to see that? This trio is getting the band back together. Literally. Yes. Pun intended. I know that sounds confusing, but this is actually going to be a boy band movie.
