Boys State Synopsis
The sensational winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at this year's Sundance Film Festival is a wildly entertaining and continually revealing immersion into a week-long annual program in which 1,000 Texas high school seniors gather for an elaborate mock exercise: building their own state government. The program has a long history of luminous alumni including Bill Clinton, Cory Booker and Samuel Alito. The young men who stand out in Boys State feel like they could rise to the same heights of future leadership.
