Godzilla Minus One (2023)

Godzilla Minus One, set in post-war Japan 1946, follows Koichi Shikishima, a traumatized ex-kamikaze pilot haunted by the war and the loss of his comrades. As the nation struggles to rebuild, a terrifying new threat emerges - Godzilla, a monstrous creature rising from the depths of the ocean. Unable to bear the thought of more lives lost, Shikishima embarks on a personal mission to stop Godzilla, assembling a ragtag group of fellow veterans to face the seemingly unstoppable beast. Torn between the ghosts of his past and the desperate need to protect his nation, Shikishima must confront his own demons and find the courage to fight for a future where humanity can survive.
