Synopsis of Dante's Peak (1997)

When volcanologist Harry Dalton (Pierce Brosnan) arrives in the quiet Pacific Northwest town of Dante's Peak, he suspects that the nearby dormant volcano is showing dangerous signs of renewed activity. While local officials dismiss the warnings to protect tourism and public image, subtle tremors and toxic gas emissions hint that a catastrophic eruption may be imminent.

As the volcano violently awakens, Harry teams up with mayor Rachel Wando (Linda Hamilton) to evacuate the town before it's too late. What follows is a relentless race against time as lava flows, ash clouds, and collapsing terrain turn Dante's Peak into a living nightmare, forcing residents to confront nature's unstoppable power and the cost of ignoring science.

An uneven but watchable disaster film that leans more on spectacle than strong storytelling.
