According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Hitman" will be releasing a new game in 2012 as well as a new film in the same year. This will be the fifth installment in the video game franchise and the second film in the film franchise.

The fifth game find Agent 47 deep within the center of a conspiracy, and will take place mostly i n the United States.  The film is expected to go in the same direction, says producer Adrian Askarieh. Their goal is  to bring the game's "grit and texture and the character-driven context" to the screen version.

The script was written by Daniel Casey. Chuck Gordon and Fox International will be producing.
