Director Taika Waititi said, "Sakaar was just an insane, far-off, futuristic place which was the biggest shift for the film and these characters…I was really excited when Kevin [Feige] and the rest of Marvel jumped on board with the idea to use [Jack] Kirby as a big influence in the design of the film. What's really hard is staying authentic."
The storyline was developed in 2006 after Hulk was deemed too dangerous to Earth and was shot into outer space. We will see Hulk in his new role as a gladiator, fighting for a ruler called the Red King.
Thor: Ragnarok will star Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Karl Urban as Skurge, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Idris Elba as Heimdall. It is slated for a November3, 2017 release.
