FX's acclaimed creative powerhouse Noah Hawley is expanding his collaboration with the network and Disney Entertainment Television in a major way. The Emmy-winning writer, director, and producer has signed a new overall deal-reportedly valued in the nine figures-that will keep him within the FX and Disney creative family for years to come. The announcement arrives alongside the official renewal of "Alien: Earth" for a second season.

Following the breakout success of its debut season, production for Season 2 will shift from Thailand to London, with filming slated to begin next year. The move marks the next phase for FX's most ambitious science-fiction project yet, continuing Hawley's inventive expansion of the Alien universe.

Hawley's "Alien: Earth", inspired by Ridley Scott's genre-defining Alien films, reimagines the franchise for television with cinematic ambition and emotional depth. Developed with strong support from Scott Free Productions and its president, David W. Zucker, who also serves as an executive producer, the series earned widespread acclaim from both fans and critics. It holds a 94% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 85 "Must-Watch" rating on Metacritic.

The ensemble cast for Season 1 included Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El.

Hawley, who created the series, serves as writer, director, and executive producer. Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Clayton Krueger, Emilia Serrano, Bob DeLaurentis, Peter Calloway, Monica Macer, John Campisi, and Simon Emanuel also executive produce. Alien: Earth is produced by FX Productions.

"It has been our great privilege to work with Noah for more than a decade on some of FX's best and biggest shows, and we are thrilled to extend our partnership well into the future," said FX Chairman John Landgraf. "Noah never stops surprising us with truly original stories-and his unique ability to bring them to vibrant life as a director and producer as well as writer makes him extraordinary. We can't wait to get to work on the next season of Alien: Earth, as well as some equally exciting future projects in advanced development."

Eric Schrier, President of Disney Television Studios & Global Original Television Strategy, said, "I learned first-hand that Noah was a unique talent while we worked on Fargo at FX. He has gone on to make many of the best shows in television, and I couldn't be more excited that Noah will continue his FX partnership and broaden it across Disney Entertainment Television."

Hawley's creative relationship with FX began in 2014 with the launch of "Fargo", a darkly comedic crime anthology inspired by the Coen Brothers' classic film. He also created and executive produced FX's surreal superhero drama "Legion", which ran for three seasons.

"I'm thrilled that this expanded deal opens the door to new opportunities across all of Disney Entertainment Television. FX has always supported bold, character-driven storytelling. From the very beginning with Fargo, they've encouraged me to take creative risks and follow the story wherever it leads. I'm grateful to continue exploring the world of Alien: Earth alongside our partners, cast, and crew as we begin the next chapter," said Hawley.

With a proven record of crafting compelling, visually rich television, Hawley's renewed partnership promises to shape the future of FX's drama slate and beyond. As production gears up for Alien: Earth Season 2, audiences can expect another thrilling, atmospheric deep dive into one of sci-fi's most enduring mythologies-now under the guiding vision of one of modern TV's most distinctive voices.
