From cookies to cocktails, fans can indulge in magical treats inspired by Elphaba and Glinda
As the dramatic final chapter hits theaters, Wicked: For Good is more than just a cinematic masterpiece. For fans, the enduring friendship between two unlikely witches strikes a deeper chord. Whether some are drawn to Glinda’s perfectly pink world or Elphaba’s glorious green hue, the balance of delicate and bold entices. With the Wicked food and beverage offerings, these flavorful and fanciful treats soar to new heights.
Food and beverage brands love good crossovers. Although product placements have become less apparent, offering fans a way to bring the movie experience and the storyline into their daily lives is vital. It is more than just wearing a favorite T-shirt or singing a song on repeat. People are hungry and thirsty for part of that world, especially Wicked fans.
Sweet Treats with an Extra Serving of Magic
Wicked has transformed the baking aisle. Betty Crocker brought back its color-changing baking mixes. The transformation is not as dramatic as Fiyero’s turning into a scarecrow, but the hidden colors add a little Wizard razzle-dazzle to the whole eating experience.
Keebler has two options. First, the Keebler Wicked Chocolatey Mint Limited Edition Ready Crust is the perfect way to whip up an easy dessert. With the holiday season here, the rich, refreshing flavor is ideal for peppermint bark pies, classic chocolate silk pie or even a golden butterscotch option.
Since the crust is ready to use, it invites a simple, colorful interpretation of Wicked’s signature pink and green. With a little food dye, a classic vanilla crème pie can transform into a Glinda and Elphaba celebration.
For anyone who prefers to eat versus make, Keebler has transformed its iconic Striped Cookies. The Limited Edition Wicked Fudge Stripes are chocolatey, mint-flavored, too. While these cookies’ colors fall into the Elphaba fandom, there are a few simple ways to bring in some Glinda sparkle.
Since pink and green are perfect pairs, consider adding some pink marshmallows to make a Fudge Stripes-inspired s’mores stack. With a little golden glitter dust, the simple treat feels indulgent and magical.
Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine Pours Wicked Inspired Drinks
After Pepsi DRIPS dropped its specialty offerings at Regal Theaters, Coca-Cola joined Wicked fever with six specialty drinks. AMC Theaters is offering these specialty beverages. While the specialty offerings are front and center on the screen at these theaters, people can recreate the specialty drinks anywhere. It is the beauty of Coca-Cola Freestyle machines.
The drinks are as follows:
- Flying Fizz: Barq’s root beer and ginger ale
- Glinda’s Goodness: A combination of Sprite, strawberry, and grape
- Magical Bubble: Grape-flavored Sprite
- Rainbow Sparkle: A blend of orange Fanta, peach, strawberry, and cherry
- Wicked Witch: Grape Fanta and lime
- Yellow Brick Brew: Sprite with pineapple and peach
Bubbly Up Some Wickedly Good Potent Potables
Since some people prefer a beverage with a little more kick, these two Wicked-inspired cocktails bubbly up extra excitement. Made with Hampton Water Bubbly, the first sip will take you more than halfway there to defying gravity.
Hampton Water shared two options: The Bubbly Pink Potion and The Good Witch. While each one has a little sprinkle of magic, it is imperative to add the Hampton Water Bubbly at the end. Shaking sparkling wine creates a spell that goes terribly wrong.
The Bubbly Pink Potion
Ingredients:
- 4 oz Hampton Water Bubbly
- 1 oz Elderflower liqueur
- 1 oz Pomegranate juice
- ½ oz Lemon juice
- Fresh mint leaves
- Edible glitter (optional)
Directions:
- In a shaker filled with ice, combine the elderflower liqueur, pomegranate juice, and lemon juice. Shake well.
- Strain into a glass filled with ice.
- Top with Hampton Water Bubbly Sparkling Rosé and gently stir to combine.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a sprinkle of edible glitter for a magical, shimmering effect.
Even without the edible glitter, this cocktail shines. It is bright, effervescent, and enticing. The sweet elderflower contrasts with the slightly tart pomegranate. With the fresh mint, that instant aroma burst invites the first sip and keeps you coming back for more.
The Good Witch
Ingredients:
- 4 oz Hampton Water Bubbly
- 1 oz Pink lemonade
- ½ oz Grenadine
- 1 oz Tito’s Vodka
- Fresh raspberries or strawberries
- Lemon wheel
Directions:
- In a shaker filled with ice, combine the pink lemonade and vodka. Shake well.
- Strain the mixture into a champagne flute or a coupe glass.
- Slowly top with Hampton Water Bubbly Sparkling Rosé, allowing the bubbles to rise.
- Drizzle grenadine gently into the glass to create a beautiful ombre effect.
- Garnish with fresh raspberries or strawberries and a lemon wheel on the rim.
The Good Witch should be sipped more cautiously. The complexity in this cocktail requires a moment to ponder. After the initial tartness hits, the sweetness takes over. It is a reminder to never judge at first blush.
In addition to the Hampton Water Bubbly cocktails, several bars, restaurants, and alcohol brands have created their own beverages. Whether it is an Absolut Vodka cocktail or a complex Elphaba’s Spell from Travelle Bar at The Langham, Chicago, there is no shortage of ways to raise a glass to Wicked: For Good.
