Focus Features, in conjunction with FlickDirect, is giving South Florida movie fans the opportunity to see THE UPRISING early at a special advance screening in Miami.
Andrew Garfield leads a ferocious fight against the tyranny of King Richard II in THE UPRISING, the new historical epic written and directed by Paul Greengrass. FlickDirect readers can claim complimentary passes to see the film early at a special Miami advance screening on Wednesday, September 9, two days before its nationwide theatrical release.
Set against the true events of the Uprising that helped inspire the legend of Robin Hood, THE UPRISING follows Garfield as the leader of a rebellion against the English crown. As war spreads across England, he forms an army of ordinary people to confront the King's forces in a fight for justice and survival.
The historical drama brings Greengrass' visceral filmmaking style to a large-scale story of rebellion, power, and ordinary people confronting an entrenched ruling class. Greengrass previously directed United 93, Captain Phillips, Bloody Sunday, and multiple films in the Bourne franchise.
Garfield leads an ensemble cast that includes Jamie Bell, Stephen Dillane, Tom Hollander, Cosmo Jarvis, Thomasin McKenzie, Jonny Lee Miller, Woody Norman, Katherine Waterston, and Sky Yang.
Jason Blum produces alongside Paul Greengrass, Gregory Goodman, Joanna Kaye, Joe Neurauter, and Lars Sylvest. Focus Features will release THE UPRISING in theaters nationwide on September 11, 2026.
