ABOUT THE WALK
The Walk (2015) tells the true story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit and his audacious 1974 plan to walk a tightrope between the Twin Towers of New York's World Trade Center. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film traces Petit's journey from street performer in Paris to master wire-walker under the mentorship of Papa Rudy, developing the precision, discipline, and obsession required to attempt what many considered an impossible feat.
As Petit assembles a small team of accomplices to secretly infiltrate the nearly completed towers, the film shifts into a suspenseful heist-like thriller. Every step of the preparation builds toward the breathtaking moment when Petit steps onto the wire, suspended more than 1,300 feet above the city. Blending spectacle with intimate character study, The Walk explores artistic passion, risk, and the pursuit of a dream that defies gravity itself.
