hi I'm Alison has lit with FlickDirect and I'm speaking with Kelly Marie trend about last Jedi hi how are you well I'm good how are you I am great so Rose is described as a maintenance worker who is part of the resistance however during the Star Wars Celebration director Rian Johnson said she's the biggest new part in the movie so what does that mean exactly it means exactly what a lot of scenes you know a little tidbits here and there that I see with you and Finn so yeah I'm guessing there's a lot of interaction between the two of you yeah yeah yeah I think it's I mean it's no secret that a lot of the characters in this movie are sort of like pairing off with each other I'm and I sort of rose sort of goes on this weird adventure with Finn and yeah it's really exciting I can't wait for people to see more of it tell me a little bit about a little bit about what the first day on set was like for you yeah it's so we're I remember that day like it was yesterday because I'm getting goosebumps because I was so nervous it's like there was so much energy you know it's just like you you go into your makeup and John and I would always get makeup done right next to each other and you're doing that for it feels like an hour and a half maybe two hours and I'm not exaggerating I think it actually was I'm just like makeup and then I'm you got deer costume and then you're sort of like sitting there waiting for them to call you to set and I remember when they finally called it a set and I was like just looking around really kind of putting my head down and trying to just be completely focused and there were certain things too that I didn't know just because it was my first big film set right so they were like let's do a run-through and I'm like so yeah it's a lot of like very figuring things out as you go but I'm that first day really felt like I was an animal that was about to be chased by a wolf or something you know your senses are just so heightened it just like every little sound you're aware of and everything like it really felt that I was just so aware of everything I just wanted to be really present I said this a detail or something it was weird so this is your first big film role and it happens to be in this iconic series what kind of pressure was that yeah a lot do you still feel that pressure are you nervous about when the fans actually do get to see the film in your character I mean yeah I mean I think that there was a lot of before it's hard as an actor because I think that for me at least obviously this is something that people have loved for so many years and you want people to love it and you want to do it justice but at the same time you kind of have to ignore everyone's feedback because you want to be honest to whatever it is that's on that paper and you need to do your work and that means maybe not listening to everyone's input all the time I'm it's hard to say because of course like I think it's a normal human quality to want to be liked but you can't let that influence what you do because you need it to be authentic what's one thing that you learned on set that you're gonna take with you forever I think just the ability to be really flexible and roll with the punches because a lot of times it's sort of just figuring out how what things work and what don't work on set and not being married to any choices that you've made already um and also finding ways to help out your partner to if there's any way that you can I think that I some of the best actors are best in that they react it's just what the other actor is doing instead of just thinking about what they're about to say next sounds like great life and professional lessons I think it does actually well thank you so much I am super excited so I can't wait to see it thank you [Music]
