Hi, I'm Allison with FlickDirect, and I'm speaking with Evangeline Lilly about Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp. Hello. How are you doing? Hi. I like how when you say hi to your audience, you're really nice about it. Hi. Thank you. So many people are very down at hi. I'm da da da da da. Oh. But you're very friendly. I like my audience. I like that. That's nice.

So tell me, what does it mean to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? What does it mean? That's the question. Um it's just it's so cool. You know, it's just so cool. Like I didn't used to be into this space. I didn't even watch Marvel movies until I first met Marvel. Oh. And um so I didn't know how cool they were. I didn't know that Marvel were like the rock stars of Hollywood.

I had was totally oblivious to what they were up to. And um now that I'm deep into it, I've totally drunk the Kool-Aid. And I'm like, yeah, this is the coolest thing. I'm part of the gang, and I get to be an Avenger. Avenger. And it's so cool. Ooh, you get to be an Avenger. to be an Well, listen, in the original Listen, in the original comic books, uh Ant-Man and the Wasp are the original founding members of the Avengers.

So it's about time they get to represent in the movies. All right, excellent. We'll be looking forward to that. I read somewhere that you wanted Michelle Pfeiffer to play Hope's mom. That's true. How come? Because I'm obsessed with Michelle Pfeiffer. She's awesome, isn't she? She's amazing. She's I mean, the first thing you think of when you say Michelle Pfeiffer is the most beautiful woman you've ever laid eyes on.

But then you meet her, and you're like, oh she's also Can I swear on your show? I just did. It just happened. Don't worry. She's also um intelligent and funny and generous and kind and charming and talented and just everything you would want Michelle Pfeiffer to be. Um but I didn't know that when I said I wanted her to play my mom. I just knew that she was the Catwoman.

And she was like my icon when I was growing up. And I'm embarrassed to admit that that was mostly cuz she was just so gosh darn beautiful. Yeah. Yeah, she really is. She's so striking on screen. And she is in this film, too. I think she's perfectly cast, honestly. Yeah. Um for you, you have a much bigger role, obviously, this time around than the first film.

How much more physically and mentally did you have to prepare for this? I think the mental journey was the most difficult. Um partly because there were I felt the pressure of being the first titled female in the MCU. Um partly because I just always want to get everything I do right. And getting it right is um a labor of love. Um partly because it's such a collaborative effort.

Like, you know, you normally you take a role, you study your script, you go and you you give a performance. And aside from the input of the director, the editor, and the producers, it's yours. Mhm. And you do with it what you feel convicted to do with it. But in this case, it's just a enormous, mind-boggling collaboration of a team of dozens of people who put this character together.

And in some way, I wanted to be at the helm of that team. In some way, I wanted to guide and direct that journey and that and those choices. But on the other hand, I also wanted to have the humility to just do a trust fall and let Marvel catch me and let them be in charge and let them do what they do best, which is make incredible superheroes. Well, thank you so much.

I have to say I really enjoyed the film, and I can't wait to see what happens next with the Wasp. Thank you. I
