you cut your hair is it gonna grow back it's currently it's currently growing okay I don't have that kind of growth I mean I have certain powers but that is not one of my angel powers yeah massive hair growth it's not an angel when you cut it off at the powers gone and no thank goodness no no just it's just a style change all right the the presents now of Walker how is that going to change the relationship between Joe and cheery well Joe is definitely a little for Klimt about what he was still a little for clams you know about what he's he's trying to do in life he's he's at a crossroads he spent so much time hiding from Bowie from the first season and hiding from his space basic nature so now he's got to kind of figure out where his places and then this guy comes in and he's like doing all the things I wish I was doing hunting demons living a free bird life and so it puts a little wrench in the works are you gonna go off and hunt demons with him or is they gonna are the demons coming to midnight well we got a lot of people messing around with midnight again this season so they're gonna get messed with back cuz you know you come into our town we might eat you yeah no no Joe Joe's gonna get a little dark this season he's gonna go through a few things how fun was that to play a little bit darker character oh this season so much fun yeah I mean being able to play a little bit more of a complication in your life is always more fun but this seasons just more visceral and darker than the first season yeah it's it's yeah I'm really excited for this season yeah and personally like for my character it was there was more for me to do this season instead of sitting back hiding a secret I'm I'm actively screwing things up but when his wings came out in the first season and they were all like I didn't see that coming my favorite is Bobo's response Dillon Bruce's response Joe I'm super excited for the rest of the season because I've already seen episode 1 so I'm really excited so yes so thanks for talking with us today so I have seen episode 1 of season 2 already I'm gonna ask Ariel this question to later but the connection that's like that little psychic connection going on she seems to like it right now but I get the sense she's gonna get a little annoyed well I you know who can blame her I mean ultimately you know even the best of relationships require a little bit more privacy and unfortunately when you when you marry a vampire certain things don't quite work out the way you're used to so what are we gonna find out about the hotel in season well I think the hotel is the conduit to stories about what happens to the Midnighters so you know that the the the new occupants of the hotel become new members of the community and you know the first impression is of course that you know they might be the threat but it's entirely possible they might reveal a threat that already exists in midnight but I feel like at the end of the first episode they have a at least Heatley Skye has a hidden agenda so it would appear all right if you could sum up season two in one word what would that word powerful very much so now in the books LEM kind of goes off and he's searching for I don't know if you've read the books but he goes off and okay and you know he's searching for this ancient mystical thing with himself will LEM be going off or will he be stay in a midnight well I think the first he's just gotten married so I think the initial portion of this she's gonna want him to leave it some sense of let's at least try the marriage thing out first before we go wandering off so that's what you're going to start seeing and so you'll hear a little bit more about his personal story obviously Olivia's and actually them actually trying to be a couple yeah it's gonna be a little different dynamic now I think so I think so and it changes him for a while well thank you so much I can't wait to see the rest of the season I love fish alright so let's talk first of all I talked to Peter already about their psychic connection and you're and she's loving it right now but I'm getting the sense that it's probably gonna start pissing her off I mean olivia is a very independent woman so like being married is a is a big enough change in her life and now she's got this like man running to her side every two seconds and you know at first it's every woman's dream until very quickly it's not he knows what you want and that's good but it's bad fighting yeah exactly what is it you think in your head that you don't expect anyone to hear he's hearing yeah right exactly that's a little scary yeah when we talked to him before - not here but another time he talked we talked about the fight scenes and and season 1 your fight scene the two of you was epic epic yeah talk to me about the physicality and training yeah I mean when I was when I was taking on the role I knew that it was very important to me to physically train as much as I could even if I didn't have a fight coming up because I wanted to know what it felt like to be Olivia I wanted to know what it felt like to walk into a grocery store and like I everybody and and have this kind of almost like feel ioan sense about me where it's just like my sensories are loaded at all times and so I did a lot of fight training fight choreography weapon training I'm all the things I did all my own stunts as much as I could that was safe season two though I definitely have I have a very cool fight and Episode five stay tuned it's gonna surprise you and then but also there's a lot of healing for Olivia this season and I know a lot of people season when we're asking about her backstory yes and we kinda want to know about her dad yes sir that's coming oh there's lots of it there's lots of it so there is the fighting this season but there's also a totally different side of Olivia that we're gonna see there's a there's a softer side that I'm not sure anyone knew was inside of her but it's there and it's coming yeah well we can't wait thank you so much for talking to see you - hi how are you doing I'm pretty pretty well I'm pretty excited to be here excellent um I don't want to spoil anything because I've already seen episode 1 but Manfred's not feeling too well what was it like shooting all of that ooze and goo and it was maybe the most fun I've had on this show since the start about two two-and-a-half years ago it was it was you know really exciting dirty yeah and and and really so much fun I think well I'm not gonna say because I don't want fans to know what happens with kind of she'll be back in an hour yeah oh I'm glad to hear that she's not in every episode this season but she's she's still a strong presence what weather when she's here and when she's there and when she's not she's always her presence is felt very much well that's good to hear at least what can you tell us about the hotel and Kai and patients so kind patients are the new owners of the hotel Kai may or may not have real supernatural ability to heal the powers of others and make them normal human beings again and you know I think it poses in the whole question around season two I think is you know if you could just take a pill and and and and get rid it rid yourself of your of what makes you you and just to blend in easier would you and I think a lot of people a lot of the majority of the population of midnight has asked themselves that question at one point or another and I think Manfred has lived with that for a long time and he's just finally getting comfortable with being special and now there's that yeah a little bit and then patients as a patients as a sneaky one she's you know patients and Manfred form a bond it's not it's not necessarily romantic but she is a married woman and so but they certainly form a bond through adversity let's say that we can't wait to see what happens thank you so much for talking how does it feel to now have a second book Siri become a successful television well actually this is my first it is true blood blood huh Marcus doing my Aurora Teagarden looks and now I have this wonderful series so I feel like a very lucky writer that's what I feel like you should this is a it's wonderful now I know in the books it's it goes in a little different direction than what I've already seen for season 2 how much do you consult on now that they've made changes I mean they're your characters but these are totally almost different stories oh they're they're very different stories but since this is not my first rodeo I'm reconciled to that I feel like you have to trust the people you're dealing with to respect your characters and to take them to adventures that are in keeping with their character and there are some great characters in this story I mean mr.
snuggly Zelda who I'm so glad that she's back for episode 1 of season 2 she don't tell anybody love them both and I mean even just the main characters are I mean Olivia's just badass and wonderful and I love riding badass women and Fiji's just great - although she's a little different in the books than the lovely individual you know different but I think the character itself is basically the same I think she's a little more self-confident on the TV show yes somewhat yeah and interestingly enough with the Rev I felt like in the books he was so much more reserved than held back then he is on the television series he was grumpy or is there any point that there is thinking of bringing in the hole where Woolf kind of storyline because I love that where he kind of takes on this young boy and he the word tiger yes I hope that happens because all my readers Quinn was not in the True Blood TV show so he is free to be in another TV show and I had he has an ardent following who would just love to see Quinn I would - so let's make that happen make that happen with them absolutely it was wonderful speaking with you I love your books I got two things to say to you after seeing episode 1 first of all get a room number 2 number 2 magic sex it's sex magic it's real it's a real core workout floating for that long let me tell you it wasn't that long how long is this little honeymoon phase gonna last I know it's it's really sweet it goes there's like four different stages of it so and it's sweet and then it gets crazy and then possibly gets me together you'll have to wait and see I don't want to spoil anything for fans but what's going on with Fiji's guard so we start to notice that there seems to be a connection between the relationship that's budding between the two of us and and some things that are not budding it's it seems like some not pleasant things keep coming as a result of of this and and part of the journey of the season is figuring out what's happening and then so those forces working against them they're definitely personal yeah yeah what can you tell us about the hotel and I hate it well I could tell them from the beginning is like really now like you're gonna come in like yeah and and we really they're interesting they're interesting newcomers in the loop in the town I'll yeah no I so awesome to have Nestor and Jamie yeah yeah yeah yeah really good our entire guest cast of season is crazy crazy good yeah Tracy Lissette yeah I can't remember the gentleman's name you play silly of his father he's from dead you just gave us a spoiler we are gonna meet Olivia's father she's been kind of tight-lipped about it oh I didn't think that was a spoiler we knew that we're gonna get information we didn't know we were gonna meet him but so we will we will meet all right okay so for me it wasn't it all right well anyway we're just gonna have to wait and see we I'm so excited for the rest of season two since I've seen the yeah yeah it feels like a different show than last season all right well thank you guys for talking with us we appreciate it so much thank you [Music]

From Niels Arden Oplev, the visionary director of “Mr. Robot,” and based on the hit book series from author Charlaine Harris (“True Blood”), comes a journey into a remote Texas town where no one is who they seem. From vampires and witches to psychics and hit men, Midnight is a mysterious safe haven for those who are different.
