Jessica Chastain Faces a Sinister Presence in Rob Savage's Terrifying New Horror Film
Universal Pictures has released the official trailer for Other Mommy, the chilling supernatural horror film directed by Rob Savage (Host, The Boogeyman) and produced by James Wan through Atomic Monster and Blumhouse. Based on Josh Malerman's bestselling novel Incidents Around the House, the film stars Jessica Chastain in dual roles as both a loving mother and the terrifying entity known only as "Other Mommy."
The story follows young Bela, who forms a disturbing relationship with a sinister presence inside her home that looks exactly like her own mother. As the mysterious entity grows more powerful, Bela's family is pulled into an escalating nightmare where trust, love, and identity become horrifyingly blurred.
Alongside Chastain, the film stars Jay Duplass, Arabella Olivia Clark, Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed, and Karen Allen. Directed by Rob Savage from a screenplay by Nathan Elston, Other Mommy arrives exclusively in theaters on October 9, 2026.
