Hokum (2026)

Reclusive horror novelist Ohm Bauman travels to a remote Irish inn carrying his parents’ ashes, hoping to fulfill a final family obligation while escaping the pressures of his increasingly troubled life. Instead, he finds himself drawn into local stories surrounding an ancient witch said to haunt the hotel’s honeymoon suite, tales that begin to feel disturbingly real as unsettling visions invade his stay.

When a shocking disappearance deepens the mystery surrounding the inn, Ohm is forced to confront both the supernatural presence closing in around him and the buried memories he has spent years avoiding. Written and directed by Damian McCarthy, Hokum blends Gothic atmosphere, Irish folklore, psychological horror, and haunted-house terror into an increasingly nightmarish examination of grief, guilt, and the stories people tell themselves to survive.
