Synopsis of Fight Club (1999)

An insomniac office worker (Edward Norton) meets a charismatic soap salesman named Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) on a flight, and together they create an underground fight club as a form of male bonding and rebellion against modern consumer culture. What begins as a primal outlet quickly grows into a violent, anarchistic movement known as Project Mayhem.

As their dangerous new world spirals out of control, the narrator begins to unravel the disturbing truth about Tyler's identity and his own fractured psyche. Directed by David Fincher, Fight Club is a visceral psychological thriller that questions conformity, capitalism, and identity—cementing its place as one of the most influential films of the late 1990s.

  • Tyler Durden: You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your fucking khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.
