"Transformers One" to Debut with Barco's Revolutionary HDR Technology – Exclusive Pre-Launch Screening

"Transformers One", Paramount Animation and Hasbro Entertainment's highly anticipated film, will mark a significant milestone as it becomes the first movie showcased with Barco's cutting-edge "HDR By Barco" laser projectors. This release will kick off a pre-launch program for Barco's new HDR-capable premium theater systems.

At the core of HDR by Barco is its groundbreaking light steering technology, distinguishing it from other HDR systems on the market. This innovative approach directs light to precise focal points within each frame, allowing Barco's HDR Lightsteering projector to deliver exceptionally bright highlights and deeper blacks, creating vivid, high-contrast images that captivate audiences.

In partnership with AMC Theatres, B&B Theatres, and Regal Cinemas, a specially graded and mastered version of "Transformers One" will be presented in five newly upgraded HDR By Barco cinema auditoriums starting September 20, coinciding with the film's wide release across the U.S. The selected locations include AMC Americana at Brand 18 in Glendale, AMC Barrywoods 24 in Kansas City, B&B Theatres Red Oak 12 in Dallas, Regal Dania Pointe in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, and Regal Times Square in New York City.

First unveiled at CinemaCon in April, this pre-release program will run through the end of the year, leading up to HDR By Barco's full commercial launch in 2025. Additional titles participating in this exclusive program will be announced at a later date.

"Transformers One", directed by Academy Award winner Josh Cooley, offers a stylized origin story set on the planet Cybertron, featuring animation by Industrial Light & Magic. The film explores the transformation of young Optimus Prime, voiced by Chris Hemsworth, and young Megatron, voiced by Brian Tyree Henry, from close friends to fierce rivals.
