hi this is penny McLean with flick direct I'm going to be doing the fringe press line how you doing I'm doing good i enjoying comic-con so far I am I've had a very sort of a brief comic-con I haven't been here for the full run of it I was here for a little bit yesterday and then I'm back today how many have you been so far this is comic-con five of San Diego plus one in Anaheim plus one in New York that's awesome I'm the first time so I'm a movie and I'm loving so how are you dealing with comic con yeah it's great you know agree normally by Sunday everybody's a little bit burnt out cuz it's I mean it's good but it is a lot good going on here for the for the full the full run definitely I wanted to ask about your your great character that you go back and forth to do two different worlds and with Olivia now with the new season coming are we going to see more with your daughter with Olivia yes I think I mean the new season is set that episode 4 19 that we did last year was the template the teaser basically for what the fifth season is so we're going to start off almost exactly where that episode left left off and will be with her and will be in 2036 I think for the entire final season and what's your favorite part of your dad with working with Walter what's your favorite quirkiness or part of the show with them my favorite part is actually the off-camera part because the you know the on camera stuff i think is born out of the fact that he and I get along so well but also just enjoy the process of telling the story of these two men so all of the stuff that happens on camera is a joy to be you know a part of those scenes but it's actually the working out of the scenes and the you know and they're running it in the thinking about how to push in certain directions and you know what the arc of these this father and son are going to be over the course of a long-form story he's the prankster off on and off set for the cast it's not a high we've got some serious cast members so it's not a it's not a prank he said there's some distant sense of humors on this show that would not think that was funny it's not a prank you said I want to ask you about your character which universe do you really prefer I mean I loved the alternate universe like I loved it but I think I loved it because she was just so light and easy you know to play with but this year we're moving we're in this universe we're in the future we're in twenty thirty six and it's been a couple of years since I've been able to give Olivia my full attention so I'm kind of excited about that too do you prefer wearing the red rook rig that you have I love it I know I love the wig as well I don't get to keep it but uh yeah I do love that way and is there any special experience or any quirks that you like when you experience with the Robert I mean excuse me Walter in the lab anything that you can remember that you like the past seasons oh look John Lee is just a treat to work with its like I mean you can seen him do interviews or talk it's just fun and I think more than anything else it's it's always lovely to see to see him just throw everything out there you know he's just like unashamed of like making a mistake so therefore everything's just fun and and that I'll take with me for life but that's John not Walter I think you're such a beautiful actress and with the whole relationship with Peter with you being a mom the new season how do you think you're gonna handle that I don't know how they're gonna handle it to this 25 year old girl I don't know it would be lovely from you know if it was just all easy and happy and everything was joyous and lovely but I don't think it will be I think there'll be a few issues to work through is there anything that you're looking forward for this season for your character to change all of it you know as I said before it's like that it's been a couple of years since I've actually just had Olivia to focus on and so I'm just I don't know I just want to give her all my I just want to give her all my attention and put my whole heart into her this year I wished you on the best and are you having a good time so far at comic-con yeah this is our third day so we're sort of like we've seen it all it's been fun are you enjoying yourself at comic-con so far I'm having such a blast it's the greatest thing ever it's sad bittersweet because it's the last one but um you know I just love coming and connecting with the fans it's such an incredible experience which all I wanted to ask for the new season coming up I know you pi can't say too too much are we going to be hopefully getting to see some new things I've never been played out as of yet the two different worlds with all the characters well what you're going to see this year is a new beginning you know you're going to definitely see we're gonna pick up from 419 which is last year in the future and we're gonna get to see a lot of things like from the past that we didn't really expect to see you're going to get to see things that you thought you understood that will be recontextualized and you're going to see even more surprises along the way so I'm really excited about the last season it's a perfect way to wrap it up and you know we're just we're thrilled with the audience response well I'm a huge fan as well and especially with Walter I think that's just incredible incredible character is there anything else that we can maybe more than you know over the top level be seen possibly you're going to see some some really interesting weird fringe cases i mean i always take pleasure in freaking people out but you know i think this year will synth you you'll see some things that i'll probably make your head spin so if you if you really enjoy that kind of stuff which i hope you do they'll be they'll be more of it but Walter is Walter and John Noble without John I mean he makes me look good because he takes these lines I don't know how any actor could do him and he just turns him into absolute gold but what's your favorite part so far from the pack from all these seasons still now what's your favorite that you're always going to take with you I honestly will take the fans support because I mean look my job I'm the luckiest guy in the world you know and and these actors are incredible and I I mean I can't think of a better job but what the fans have done for this show is is nothing short of miraculous you know using social media to get us picked up I mean this is really an incredible feat you know that they've accomplished I mean these these grassroots campaigns that they've actually come up with all these sit in my office and they'll say they did this I'm like what how did they do that you know and they're just really brilliant resourceful and so I'll never forget that because I've never been supported so much well thank you so much and enjoy yourself at comic-con what I think about playing such an older Broyles I'm gonna have fun because no no because I loved what you know for me and for most actors that I really kind of respect the most fun is always doing something different so it's really been great that I've been able to play three different versions of Broyles on this one show and so the fact that I'm going to be able to continue to explore the older version for an entire season and potentially in even different different way than he was seen in episode 4 19 is very exciting and what do you hope for this season coming out for the last season for your carrot or anything new anything that's different that's something that's or not expecting to see well you want are you asking me for specifics no no well what personally as an actor cat character growth well you know i'm sure i would really like Broyles this season to be really intricately involved in it's funny because I can't say the case because this season it's not even gonna be what case is gonna be about a really resistance movement movement against out an occupying force but an integral part in that story whatever that is hey I wanted to ask you about your new online series Reddick the drone series Oh drone I'm really excited about that that's a Bobby glickert who was the writer director and Clark Baker was the other executive producer sent me the script that I really really responded to it it's I'm starring in and I'm also a co-producer along with my partner my business partner Steven Adams and it's going to be on yum yum which is Justin Lin's youtube channel and Justin Lin is also one of these Dexter producers and it's about a drone it's about a combat drone in the near future how do I put this my characters ahead of a mercenary organization kind of kind of like black futuristic black water and they design these combat battle robots drones that fight in wars and this one drone has gone on a mission with these other mercy with either human mercenaries has gone rogue and it's about my characters dealing with kind of that situation and once and what that means for the other drones because it started to make it started to make basically started to make decisions on its own based on its morality programs it's awesome I can't wait for it and for my last question for you is there any big pranksters on the set of French any big price to the biggest prankster onset is John Noble all men john loves doing stuff to people um I'm just trying to think of stuff however boy we got him back good Josh Jackson to this great idea we were shooting this scene and you know John I think was season two and john heiss nobody figured out any AHA's characters always eating something so we're going to i can't remember we arrested this guy but work it was on a crime scene and we were interrogating this guy who owned this there was a in the back room of the shop and and the scene john is looking out I think he's looking at a typewriter and he pulls up cookie out of his pocket to eat it and so josh said are the next tech he's what'd she do so what we did was just as John says his line all three of us poor cooking's out of our pockets and start eating with John and John he's eating and he's trying to get his lines out and he looks proud and he loses it and that was uh yeah that was my favorite moment yeah thank you so much i hope you have a good time at comic-con and good luck with the new season thank you and your new drone series I appreciate it sir pleasure thank you ask you i love your character for dr.

Walter Bishop what is your favorite part about playing him a lots of things I mean it very much obviously he's just so random and he can get away with anything but I've lovely the relationship he stood up with Peter particularly the first two seasons that was that was sort of gorgeous to do with Josh Jackson's character but I mean I love the fact that he has a friend who's a cow that big cow I don't know there's so many things about him but also he can snap it he can snap into her to a level of intellectual acumen that's amazing at times you know but he get any gets all caught up in bodily functions and then that is so inappropriate like we all are really but he's he's unfiltered and he just says and does exactly what he wants to do so that's what I love about playing water the water in the property universe and when you're in your lab and you come up from cutting a body open on one hand and then taking out a snack what's your favorite snack or craziest combination you've ever eaten well yes it pulling yet I know I know it's terra linda pulling out with a bloody hand and eating a red van or something or other and or talking about or thinking about food in the middle of it that's probably worse sometimes I remember working over a really smelly corpse once really you know disgustingly decomposed and thinking about food i think was in season one that wasn't really disgusting but it was hard what water does usually usually he eats red vines up but he does like get strawberry flavored milk shakes as well or they consumed anything he'll eat anything he gets a little fancy for his daddy natural and do you prefer um which universities you're the most powerful leader in one and then a normal person and the other which one do you prefer better to play all the normal guy he's loved war fun he's a lot more fun wharton it is a great character but he's really stitched he's a really stitched up character and that's it it's lovely to play but it's not nearly as much fun as playing Walter Walter who could do anything and does have a great time in comic con thank you it's a pleasure thank you
