Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from a screenplay by Drew Goddard, Project Hail Mary follows Dr. Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), a former molecular biologist unexpectedly thrust into humanity's last hope for survival after Earth's sun begins to die. Awakening alone aboard a spacecraft with no memory of how he got there, Grace slowly pieces together his mission before forming an unlikely friendship with an alien survivor affectionately named Rocky.
