After losing her journalism position at the Vanguard newspaper, Andy unexpectedly lands a new role at Runway as its features editor. The appointment comes as the fashion magazine faces a damaging child labor scandal, with publisher Irv Ravitz believing Andy can help restore its reputation. Miranda, however, strongly opposes the decision and resents having Andy brought onto her team.
Everything changes when Irv dies unexpectedly of a heart attack during his 75th birthday celebration. His grandson (Holden Goodman; Ketchup on Waffles) inherits control of Runway and immediately sets out to overhaul the magazine from the ground up. Faced with an uncertain future and the possibility of losing everything they've built, Miranda, Andy, and Nigel, along with some unexpected assistance from Emily, must put aside their differences and work together to save Runway before it's too late.
As always, the performances are the film's greatest strength. Meryl Streep effortlessly slips back into the role that earned her an Academy Award nomination. Anne Hathaway brings warmth and confidence to Andy's return, while Stanley Tucci once again steals scenes with his charm and impeccable comic timing. Emily Blunt also shines, proving that Emily remains every bit as entertaining as audiences remember.
Fashion has always been the franchise's signature, and the sequel doesn't disappoint. From impeccably tailored couture to the bustling streets of New York City and the elegance of Milan, the film constantly gives viewers something to admire. The wardrobe naturally takes center stage, but the production design and cinematography also help recreate the polished, high-pressure world of Runway magazine.
The film also explores the changing landscape of journalism and print media, giving the story more substance than a simple nostalgia exercise. Rather than relying solely on familiar faces, it acknowledges how dramatically both industries have changed while allowing its characters to evolve with them.
In true Disney fashion, the 4K disc is presented in Dolby Vision with a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, which was the smart choice on Disney's part. With such amazing and elaborate fashion permeating the movie, having the best quality video possible is paramount. The colors pop off the screen, and every minute detail is showcased beautifully.
Of course, the technical aspects wouldn't be complete without the very best in audio quality, which in this case means Dolby Atmos. The music sounds outstanding, while it doesn't overpower the dialogue. The background and ambient noises are subtle and never distract from the film's elegant atmosphere.
The bonus features include three featurettes. Level Up: Updating the Icons has the cast and filmmakers reflecting on the original film's legacy while exploring how the characters and fashion have evolved. Inside the Fashion Closet examines the creation of the iconic looks for Miranda, Andy, Emily, and Nigel with costume designer Molly Rogers. Front-Row Access: Shooting in Italy goes behind the scenes of the Milan Fashion Week production and the creation of Runway's fashion show and concert. Also included are the "Runway" music video by Lady Gaga and Doechii, a gag reel, and an audio commentary featuring director David Frankel, screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, and costume designer Molly Rogers.

Although The Devil Wears Prada 2 may not quite match the impact of its predecessor, it remains an entertaining, stylish continuation that longtime fans are likely to appreciate.
