Mulder and Scully Return in a Darker Cut of The X-Files
The official trailer for The X-Files: I Want to Believe reveals Vrach Frankenshteyn, an all-new director's cut that restores Chris Carter's original vision for the 2008 film. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, who are drawn back into a disturbing investigation after a federal agent disappears and a disgraced priest claims to have horrifying psychic visions connected to the crime.
Set against a bleak winter landscape, the darker version follows Mulder and Scully as they confront both a brutal new mystery and unresolved ghosts from their past. The X-Files: I Want to Believe – Vrach Frankenshteyn streams on Hulu and Disney+ beginning August 14.
ABOUT X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE
Years after leaving the FBI, Fox Mulder has become a reclusive figure, while Dana Scully has dedicated her life to practicing medicine at a Catholic hospital. Their quiet lives are disrupted when the FBI asks Mulder to assist in the investigation of a missing agent after a former priest claims to be receiving psychic visions connected to the case. Though skeptical, Scully joins Mulder as they are drawn back into a world they hoped to leave behind.
As the investigation unfolds, the pair uncover a disturbing trail that leads to illegal medical experiments, human trafficking, and a chilling conspiracy. Forced to confront questions of faith, science, and the paranormal, Mulder and Scully once again rely on their unique partnership to uncover the truth before more lives are lost.
