Austin Abrams Fights for Survival Inside a Massive Sperm Whale in Whalefall
Following the death of his father (Josh Brolin), Jay Gardiner (Austin Abrams) dives off California's Central Coast in search of his remains, only to be swallowed by a massive sperm whale. Trapped inside with just one hour of oxygen remaining, Jay must rely on the hard-earned lessons his father taught him if he has any hope of escaping alive.
Directed by Brian Duffield and based on the novel by Daniel Kraus, Whalefall also stars Elisabeth Shue, John Ortiz, Jane Levy, and Emily Rudd. The survival thriller arrives exclusively in theaters on October 16, 2026.

ABOUT WHALEFALL
Following the death of his father, Jay Gardiner travels to the Central Coast of California determined to honor his memory and search for his remains beneath the ocean’s surface. What begins as a deeply personal journey quickly becomes an unimaginable fight for survival when Jay is swallowed whole by a massive sperm whale and trapped inside its body.
With only a limited supply of oxygen remaining and no clear path to escape, Jay must confront his fears, his grief, and the complicated relationship he shared with his father.
