Synopsis of Boogie Nights (1997)
Set in 1970s California, Boogie Nights follows the rise and fall of Eddie Adams (Mark Wahlberg), a young man discovered by adult film director Jack Horner (Burt Reynolds). Reinvented as Dirk Diggler, Eddie becomes a star in the booming adult entertainment industry—living fast, indulging in fame, money, and excess.
As the industry changes and the 1980s usher in darker times, Dirk's glamorous world unravels under addiction, betrayal, and ego. With sharp writing, stunning performances, and a nostalgic soundtrack, Boogie Nights captures the hedonistic highs and sobering lows of a lost era of Hollywood.
